Florida 2024 – Last day

And so the end is near, and we face the final leg of our magnificent, amazing, phenomenal, epic, awesome and magical journey.

So the last huge marathon of packing all of the suitcases and cleaning the villas took up a few hours this morning. Then into the minibus and away we all went to head to the mall for our last bits of shopping, and onto The Irish Pub for a lovely meal.

We held the awards ceremony in the pub and each of the students received an award for their outstanding achievements during their holiday of a lifetime in Florida.

We headed to Orlando airport to return the vehicles, then went to check in our luggage ready for our 5.15pm flight back to Gatwick airport.

Everything ran like clockwork as per usual under the leadership of The Gordnav.

We arrived back at Gatwick by 7.30am.

The luggage was collected then we were picked up by Lee in the school minivan to return to Carwarden House Community School.

The parents were waiting for the students ready to take the home. Totally emotional 😭.

So this was our last and final trip to Florida with the children, so it was tinged with sadness but also joy as over the past 20 years, some 160 children have been exceptionally lucky enough to have been able to go on a holiday of a lifetime with lasting memories forever.

None of this would’ve been achievable without the generosity, support and kindness bestowed upon the Children with Special Needs Foundation by the numerous individuals of our sponsors, who now are our family of friends.

There are not enough words to express our gratitude and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their continued support.
