Russ Abbot

We are delighted to welcome Russ Abbot as patron of our Foundation. Russ, born in Chester, is well known as one of the most popular entertainers in Britain today.

He started his career playing drums while still at school, formed his comedy pop group The Black Abbots and turned professional. Since 1980 he has been a solo act making a name for himself in 'Madhouse' and 'The Russ Abbot Show' TV series.

His West End stage appearances are numerous, and he received the Advertising Industry's Golden Break Award for 'Best Actor In A TV Commercial', 'Top Variety Act' in the 1990 British Comedy Awards, and his British Top 10 chart single 'Atmosphere' remained in the charts for several weeks. In 1998 he was the subject of 'This Is Your Life' on BBC1 TV.

This multi-talented and immensely likeable personality is a very welcome addition to our charity and we are thrilled at his enthusiasm and involvement.
