Letter From A Senior Social Worker
"As a senior social worker in a Children with Disabilities Team, I have really appreciated the financial support that some of my clients have received from the Children with Special Needs Foundation.
Their financial support has helped in a number of different ways. It has meant that a young boy Leroy, who has severe learning difficulties, has been able to continue having music therapy. This has improved the quality of Leroy's life as he can communicate through music and most importantly it gives him great pleasure. Lisa, who is an Autistic child aged 6 years, has benefited from some play equipment and is going to Disney Land Paris for a weekend. Katherine, who has severe epilepsy was able to have a young carer to befriend her during the summer holiday and enable her parents to have some rest during the 24 hour day they have in caring for Katherine.
Finally Edward, who has muscular dystrophy now has a special mattress, which enables him to lie as comfortably as possible and has reduced the number of times his parents have to wait to turn him.
The Charities support has helped these children in a number of different ways and has been appreciated by them as well as their families.
I am really grateful for the support the Children with Special Needs Foundation has given."
Jackie Forbes, Senior Social Worker.
