We are fully aware of the new Charities Commission legislation (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR) effective May 2018. We are now in the process of taking the required actions and will be contacting the appropriate people in the next few months, to ensure that we comply by this date.
The new GDPR form which has been sent to families for completion and return DOES NOT REPLACE the original Data Protection Form you have already completed (which in fact gives us more information on your special needs child). The new GDPR form is exactly that “new” and is governed by the Charity Commission. In order for us to contact families regarding events etc. ie. fun fair, panto, mobile home reservations one of the new forms must on our files.
Even though this new legislation does not come into effect until May this year, because we have a large number of families and donators on our files we have had to start early because, as you know, we are all volunteers and do not have administration help.
We hope this clarifies the situation.
