Leah suffered brain damage when just six weeks old. Leah now aged seven contracted meningitis and blood poisoning as a baby, leaving her with serve learning and communication difficulties.
After reading an article in the news last summer about the dolphin therapy centre in Florida, and how children like Leah had experienced improvements in their communication and learning skills, Leah’s Mother and Grandmother started a fund raising campaign to send Leah to the centre.
The family had raised over £2,000 when the charity heard about Leah, but still needed a further £2,000 to reach their target. We were delighted to telephone the family and tell them that a cheque for the remaining amount would be sent to the travel company organising the trip so Leah could be on her way.

Gerry Francis and Gordon Parris went to meet Leah and presented her with her travel documents.
