Father Christmas arrived at Pennyhill Park Hotel on the 4th December 2001; he was joined by Tom O’Connor and Roger Chapman and members of the charity committee to present cheques totalling £50,000 to seven local groups.
John Cope, Head Teacher from Carwarden House School, Camberley received a cheque for £15,000 to enable the school to complete their swimming pool appeal fund. Hopefully all the students will be enjoying a swim by the spring.
John Hastings, from CHASE (Christopher’s Hospice for Children at Guildford) received a cheque for £10,000 to help with the continued funding needed to run the hospice.

Sister Parveen Masih from Frimley Park Hospital Resuscitation Support Group received a cheque for £10,000 to purchase another Hill ROM Infant Resuscitaire Unit for the delivery suite. This is the second mobile unit the charity has purchased in the last three months.
Surrey Care Trust received £3,500 to help sponsor the Surrey Youth Awards for 2002.
Working Hospice received £3,000 to help support the Children’s Room at the hospice.
The Berkshire Blind Society was presented with a cheque for £1,500 to provide outings for children who are visually impaired. One such outing will be a penalty shoot out with the Mascot of Reading Football Club.
Angie and Garvin from the Woking and Camberley Transition Groups for the young students received a cheque for £7,250 to enable 44 students to have a holiday at Euro Disney in May this year. This holiday for many will be their first trip aboard and will help them develop their independent skills.
