Chernobyl Childrens' Life Line

Mother and daughter, Brenda and Jessica Ord, receive 45 tickets for Thorpe Park from TV sports presenter, Richard Keys. Thanks to the charity the free tickets brought much needed fun and laughter to a group of Belarussian children.

Brenda and Jessica represent members of Woking and Surrey Heathlink Group of Chernobyl Childrens Lifeline charity. They, along with other local families, welcome children from polluted areas of Belarussia to spend a months holiday in Surrey. The Thorpe Park visit is the highlight of their stay this being the second year that the charity has donated the tickets.Past Events - Special Days 6

In the late 1980's an explosion at Chernobyl covered 90% of Belarussia with radio-active dust. The children all suffer the effects of life in a poor and contaminated region. They are all free from major illnesses but tend to be weaker and more prone to infection then their peers in England.

Fresh air, good food, relaxation and fun improve their health quite visibly.
